Choose an ASD-Friendly Pediatrician<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some providers are more equipped than others to work with children who have autism. When you are doing your research to find a pediatrician for your child, try to find one who has extensive experience working with children on the spectrum. Let the practice know ahead of time if you have any specific concerns. This way, they can do their best to make necessary accommodations, like extra-long appointment slots, to better meet your child\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule Strategically<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To avoid extra waiting time when you are at the doctor\u2019s office, try to schedule for the first appointment of the day. This way, the doctor is less likely to be delayed from previous visits.
