The concept of concierge medicine may be unfamiliar to you, but we want to remove any doubts from your mind. With us, you can always count on personalized, efficient care for your child when you need it. Here are some questions families have had about how we work as well as our responses. If you have other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Are you in-network with medical insurance?

No, Dr. Weiss is not in-network with any medical insurance providers. However, certain tests and prescriptions may fall under your insurance coverage, so you’ll want to become familiar with your benefits. Also, specialist care and other services may likely be covered by your insurance.

If you need help with out-of-network claims, medical charts, or other documentation, we can help you with this paperwork.

How would I benefit from having a closer relationship with my pediatrician?

There are many advantages to getting to know your pediatrician better. For example, you have easier, more efficient access to an expert on child development, and Dr. Weiss will happily answer any questions you have. There are no dumb questions! This comes in handy particularly during the first year of a child’s life or when an unexpected illness or injury pops up. Another example of a benefit is if your child sees a specialist or must go to the hospital, Dr. Weiss can review your child’s chart and act as their advocate to make sure they are receiving the best possible care and that all tests and treatments are necessary and effective.

Will the Premier Concierge Pediatrics Membership Plan save me money?

Although our membership plan is an additional cost over insurance, in many ways, it could save you hundreds of dollars in unnecessary emergency care. For instance, if your child breaks their arm, many parents rush to the emergency room, but a visit with Dr. Weiss can usually resolve the problem with a less costly bill. In addition, if you are worried about a bad cough, Dr. Weiss can have a virtual visit with you. Or, he can listen to your child’s cough in your home, and administer basic medications like albuterol to help with breathing without going to the hospital. In a worst-case scenario, he may instruct you to go to the emergency room, but most of the time, he can help you treat the issue without incurring huge costs.

How much does treatment with Dr. Weiss cost?

Our membership plan costs just $250 per month or, if you want to pay for a full year, $2,500 annually. In-person emergency visits after hours cost an additional $300. If your child requires certain medication, you may purchase it from Dr. Weiss for a separate charge, but the amount may still be reduced and/or covered because of your insurance.

What if my child requires specialty care?

Even if your child needs care beyond Dr. Weiss’s scope, he can still be your advocate and “quarterback,” meaning he can contact subspecialists directly. As a result, your child may be seen more quickly, their records may be sent more efficiently, and testing and treatment may progress more smoothly. Throughout your specialty treatment, he can check in with and collaborate with the subspecialist, ensuring that your child gets the excellent care they deserve.

What should I do if I have a question or concern outside normal hours?

You can contact Dr. Weiss any time through a text, email, or call. Depending on the situation, he can meet with you virtually or in person. Just keep in mind that in-home after-hours emergency visits come at an extra cost.
